Items once stolen make unexpected reappearance…
This May has been a month of surprise reappearances of items thought lost forever.
Earlier this month we received the exciting news that “Arnold”, the concrete mascot dog of the Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital, had been found! Arnold had graced the garden in front of the vet clinic for 20 years and was stolen just before the May long weekend a year ago. Arnold was found in a vacant apartment by a contractor who also happened to be a client of the Animal Hospital. The popular mascot was a little worse for the wear, but will be spruced up and will assume his place of honour soon.
Welcome back Arnold!
Also making a sudden and unexpected reappearance were the some 300 election signs of Ward 4 Councillor Lynn Foster that went missing in 2010. After weeks of lawn signs going missing, Ms. Foster’s campaign team had caught the thieves red-handed the night before the election, but the signs themselves were not recovered. They were finally found today in a farmers field off 19th Ave. They were in near pristine condition in garbage bags along with the neatly folded “Save the Dog Park” banner that had been removed by persons other than the campaign team from the private property it had been hung on. Now the question is where have they been for the last 18 months?
